Our Heritage

Founded in 1874, Link-Belt began as an innovator in chain-based power transmission systems and evolved into one of the world's most respected manufacturers of cranes and excavators. Over 150 years, we have delivered more than 85,000 machines to contractors, fleet operators, and industrial customers across 85+ countries.

Today, Link-Belt operates a 290,000 m² manufacturing facility with 3,800 employees. Our engineering team develops crawler cranes up to 600 tons, telescopic cranes, and hydraulic excavators — all designed, tested, and certified to international safety and quality standards.

Company Founded

Established as a manufacturer of patented chain-based power transmission systems — the original "link belt" — for industrial applications.

1946

First Crane Manufactured

Entered the crane industry with lattice boom crawler cranes for post-war infrastructure reconstruction projects across North America.

1978

Hydraulic Excavator Line Launched

Expanded product range to include hydraulic excavators, addressing growing demand from earthmoving contractors for versatile, high-performance dig machines.

2002

ISO 9001 Certified Manufacturing

Achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification across all manufacturing operations. Continuously certified through subsequent standard revisions to ISO 9001:2015.

2018

Global Service Network Expansion

Expanded regional parts depots and service centers to 12 countries, reducing emergency parts delivery to 24-hour commitment for critical components.
